Over the years, Somalia has seen an influx of external NGOs and international agencies. While well-intentioned, many of these actors struggle with sustainability, cultural disconnects, and short-term programming that overlooks local voices and indigenous solutions. These interventions often bypass community ownership, leading to limited long-term impact and dependency on foreign aid.

CPDR is distinctly Somali-owned, Somali-run, and Somali-prioritized. We harness the lived experiences, cultural wisdom, and aspirations of our people to co-design programs that fit and last.
